As a pet parent to Mooli, Gajar, and Mishti, I know how important it is to stay on top of their deworming routine. Parasites are sneaky, and understanding their age-specific deworming needs is key to keeping them healthy. Here’s what I’ve learned about deworming, tailored to my pets’ different ages and lifestyles.

1. Puppies and Kittens: Protecting the Young Ones
When Mooli was a puppy, deworming began at just 2 weeks old, and it continued regularly until she was 6 months old. This early protection is vital because puppies and kittens are more vulnerable to parasites. Gajar, being a kitten, followed the same routine to ensure she didn’t develop any health issues from worms.

2. Adult Pets: Transitioning to Less Frequent Care
Once Mooli and Gajar crossed the 6-month mark, their deworming schedule transitioned to every 3-6 months. Mishti, being an adult dog, follows the same routine. However, since Mooli loves to play outside, she may need more frequent treatments than Gajar or Mishti, who stay mostly indoors. This difference in activity levels helps me adjust their deworming needs accordingly.

3. Spotting the Signs of Worms
It’s important to recognize when your pets might have a worm infestation. Symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, or a poor coat condition are red flags. I make sure to stay observant with Mooli, Gajar, and Mishti and take them to the vet for fecal testing if I notice any of these signs. Early detection is key to treating them effectively.

4. Indoor vs. Outdoor Pets
Mishti stays indoors most of the time, so her deworming schedule is a bit more relaxed. However, I still make sure she gets dewormed every 6 months. Mooli, with her outdoor adventures, needs more frequent treatments, typically every 3 months. Gajar, being an indoor cat, needs fewer treatments, but I still keep her on a regular schedule.

Keeping Mooli, Gajar, and Mishti parasite-free is a priority in our home. By understanding their unique deworming needs, I ensure they stay healthy, energetic, and ready to enjoy life to the fullest.
